Welcome to the first of what I hope will be a weekly blog, reflecting all things Scots-Irish.
We have called our site Scots-Irish Today because many people in America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, think of themselves as being or having Scots-Irish Ancestry. We have been told by academics and people responsible for promoting our culture and heritage that we are wrong, some say it should be Scotch Irish, some say it should be Ulster Scots, our belief is who cares what the label is as long as people understand where their Ancestry lies and what their culture stands for.
We are happy to be reaching out to all of our Scots-Irish family around the world and want you to, through our website, learn more about you and your families history, ask us for help in understanding your culture and possibly seek information about how you and your family can travel back to your and your families roots here in Ulster.Please feel free to register, to follow our site and help us spread the word about our heritage and culture.
